Earth MotherPD: “ We will begin by honoring the Earth, our home.”
Druid: " O beloved Mother, Great spirit of the earth, our home. You who are the sea bordering us, the mountains surrounding us, the sky above us. It is from you that all life as we know it springs forth. Tonight, we call on you as Don, Mother Goddess of Wales and ask that you watch over us this night and bless this rite. We give you this offering of warm cider with so much love and gratitude in our hearts.
Goddess Don, Earth Mother, derbyn ein hoffrwm, accept our offering!”
InspirationPD: “ And now we call for inspiration, so that we may speak the rite in beauty”
Druid:“ Ceridwen, keeper of the cauldron, amen, source of awen, the fiery waters of inspiration. Changer of shape, bane of Gwion, mother of Taliesin; Come into our grove now and kindle our heads with the brightness of your inspiration so that our words ring sweet in the ears of the powers. Make our voices strong, our minds clear, our bodies able. Guide our rite in the way of truth.
II. Opening of the Grove
Druid: Grove Attunement- Two powers centering
The HallowsPD: “ We now sanctify the hallows by which we make offering.”
WellDruid: “ May the waters of the earth be in this vessel; the rivers, streams, lakes, oceans and the waters of darkness that flow under the earth. May the dark realms of the beloved ancestors and cythonic gods and spirits be brought here and channeled through this vessel. We make our call with bright silver so that these waters may be a shrine for our honoring of the ancestors.
Ffynnon Sanctaidd, llifa o’n mewn! Sacred Well, flow within us!”
FireDruid: “ May the sacred fires kindled by our ancestors be remembered this night. May this flame be for us the fires of the hearth, of love, passion, and inspiration; the bright heat of the sun and the cool light of the stars and moon, and the bright places where the shining and celestial gods and spirits live. May all those things be brought here and channeled through this flame. We make our call with sweet smelling oil so that this flame may be a shrine for our praising of the gods .
Dan Sanctaidd, llosga o’n mewn! Sacred Fire, burn within us!”
TreeDruid: “ May this simple staff of wood be for us a tree - the physical representation of the connectedness of the world. Through seeing its branches reaching high and its roots digging deep may we also span the heights and depths. May the green places where the gods and goddesses or nature and nature spirits reside be brought here through this sacred tree. We give it water so that it may drink deep, and incense so that it may breath sweetly. May it be now a shrine for our worshiping of the spirits of all the worlds.
Coeden Sanctaidd, tyfa o’n mewn! Sacred Tree, grow within us.”
Opening the GatesPD: “ We have sanctified the hallows for our worship. Now let us call on the Gate Keeper to bring the worlds together.”
Druid: “ Gwyn ap Nudd, Lord of the Otherworld. Out of the deep unknown, we call you. Lord of Annwfn. Out of the obscure mist, we call you. Ruler of the Tylwyth Teg, the fair folk, out of the dark woods we call you. You who lead the dead to your court under the hill during your nightly rides across the sky, we call on you to make the way ready for us. Come to us, with your blackened face and dapple-gray horse, with your ghostly hounds trailing behind you. Ward us, so that we walk the ways in safety.
Derbyn ein hoffrwm! Accept our offering and hear our call!
Share your magic with ours as we open the ways.
Let us, together, make the well a gate to the homes of the ancestors!
Let us, together, make the fire a gate to the homes of the gods!
